XnView Software

I am using win 98 Traditional Chinese version and the XnView program choose to display Simplified Chinese for me automatically, my windows cannot display this language correctly.

I tried to change back to English display, but the program does not have this function, anyone can help me? Thanks.

When starting XnView for the very first time, it determines the language of the Windows system and uses this one as on-screen language. Obviously this did not work properly in your case (not sure why not).

XnView always comes with English, so you will be able to switch back.
Normally, you set the language in the Options (menu 'Tools->Options), category 'Language'. But since you cannot read anything in XnView I think it's best to simply exit XnView and change the language in the file 'xnview.ini' file. This file contains all the settings of XnView and is located in the program folder of XnView. Open the 'xnview.ini' in a text editor (e.g. Notepad) and search for the entry 'Language'. Change it to: Language=en

Thank you, I can changed the language successfully.

Similarity, I change the language item from zh-cn to tw, it works!

In fact, most of the Chinese use "zh-cn" (Simplified Chinese) , but for the Hong Kong, Macau (the ex-colonies of British and Portuguese), and the Taiwan Province. They use "tw" (Traditional Chinese). Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese is different language option in Windows.


XnView can identify who is Chinese but it cannot know where they are.
