Hi, newbie here. Yes, I've searched but no joy...
I have the associations I want but when I double click on an image to view it in XnView, it opens it in full screen mode every time. How can I make it stop doing that. I just want it to open in a window.
Thanks,
Shannon

to clarify: Another software I used in the past would open a window that was only the size of the image to be displayed. XnView opens a fullscreen window that has black space around the image. Is there a way to change this behavior?

In Options -> General there's a setting that let's you choose how to display files on startup.

Thanks! Any particular setting in Options->General that you think would do what I am looking for? I don't see anything that is appropriate.

I think Danny is referring to the "Mode when starting with a file" in XnView 1.90 betas.

I guess I've figured it out. XnView cannot do what I'm talking about. My example is LViewPro. When you double click on an image file that it is associated with, it will open an instance of LViewPro that is only the size of the image.
I did not realize XnView is not a released product. After reading this forum I realize it is still a work in progress. Good luck! Maybe you can take my question as a suggestion for a future release.
Otherwise your product is great! Let me know when it's ready for full release!

The latest released stable version is 1.82.4: to start in windowed mode, uncheck Options>General>Startup>'Start View in fullscreen'.
1.90 is still in Beta and many things have already been improved (including the starting mode).
