THUMB VIEW in Explorer ok- but not ICON/TILE view...

I don't know if anyone has asked this question before... so my apologies if this has been addressed. I love XNview, but there's one thing I want to tweak, and here it is: Every file type that is associated with XNview is shown in all explorer's listings with the orange XNview logo-thingie. I want disable this one feature, because when I'm browsing picture folders, etc., only the THUMBNAIL view will show me what the actual pictures are... I used to see these in TILE and ICON view as well, but not now.

Could anyone help me take out the XNview little 'associated' icon... I still want the files to be associated with XNview, but I want the TILE and ICON views in Explorer to be the same as the THUMBNAIL view. Am I totally off the track here? :?: Advance thanks to anyone who responds! :D

:) Hello ! Welcome aboard !
…I still want the files to be associated with XNview, but I want the TILE and ICON views in Explorer to be the same as the THUMBNAIL view.
Am I totally off the track here?

• Hum… I fear that the answer be “Yes:P

• You may change the icons for each file type associated with XnView, but AFAIK
you can't get a mini thumb nail showing the file itself as the icon for each file !

• This is something to request —> Bill G. !

• To soften this hard situation, you could go to Tools Menu >> Options >> System integration
then tick the box “Use XnView Shell Extension”.
- So, with a right-click on a file icon, you get a thumb nail in the local menu for it…
- From that same local menu >> Option, you can choose a thumb nail size among four pre-defined ones, and also to display the EXIF embedded thumb nail (when it exists)

 Kind regards,
Claude
