RC2: Thumb background of foldershortcut not working

Hi, I changed background from shadows to plain grey (and rebuilt the thumbs). I discovered that thumbs of folder-shortcuts do not adapt to the new background - they keep the white. It appears only on folder-shortcuts. Don't have a screendump but I think you get it, eh?

Can't reproduce it, could you post a screenshot?

I was about to report something similar.
Here's what I get...
... with these settings:
Tools »
Options »
Browser »
Thumbnails »
Appearance
Code: Select all
Border [1 ] [#999999]
Spacing [4 ]
[] Use shadow
[] Background colour [#00ff00]
[] Thumbnail back colour [#ffffff]
[] Flat style

And yet those aren't shortcuts? Weird.

That was on my laptop, and it looks like this:

On my stationary theres no complete thumb for folder-shortcuts, as you can see below there are two, and one is not even shown at all!:
What do you make of it?

The problem with background colors for folders seems to be fixed in RC3.
I was able to recreate the scenario described by Troken. It actually seems as if thumbnails for
shortcuts of folders aren't displayed anymore despite of proper preference settings:
Tools »
Options... »
Browser »
File List
Code: Select all
Folders [x] [x] [x] —
Parent folder ('..') [x] [x] — —
All other files [ ] [x] [ ] [x]
Custom files (*) [x] [x] [x] [x] [htm html mht mhtml eml nws url]
Custom files (*) [ ] [x] [ ] [x] [lnk ]
Tools »
Options... »
Browser »
Thumbnails
Code: Select all
[x] Show thumbnail for file shortcut
[x] Show 4 thumbnails in folder's thumbnail (instead of 1)

It says "(Fixed in RC3)" in the topic title. I assume that Troken has added this note.
-> Closed.

Hi there, haven't been able to be active at the forum lately, but I'll try to come back again.
No, plz open this thread again, it is unfortunately not working yet (1.90.2). The problem is still there (for thumbs of folder-shortcuts).
However, I can report a new observation:
1. If the destination-folder contains images, the shortcut-thumb gets the right appearance, but there's still a white background which is a bug (like the first image in my previous posts).
2. If the destination-folder doesn't contain images, the shortcut-thumb looks like the standard windows shortcut-icon (like the second image in my previous posts).
Note: To recreate you need to turn of the thumb-shadows and use a different backgroundcolour for the thumb-view. Hopefully this can add new light to the problem? For ordinary folders, I have not seen any wrong background-colours, seems to work fine.

When you change the background color, do you recreate thumbs?

Yes, I have recreated. And I have tested this on two different computers (win XP), it is the same behaviour. Someone must be able to recreate this, no? Or is it just my machines?
