XnView Software

Hello,

i have just checked every single thread in this forum about using gs for displaying pdf/eps/ai files in xnview. I have reinstalled gs and xnview several times, i have checked the registry, rebooted my system several times ... with no success. gs is still not recognized by xnview. I can open the files with gs by using "Open with" but i can't preview the files in xnview.

After all the problems with xnview in association with gs I wonder why there is no possibility to point to the location of gs. I'm using gs with ACDSee and it works without any problems.

Any suggestions?

With which version? Is it the AFPL version?

• A bit aside the topic, I guess that a field somewhere in the Options could allow to state the GS path…

• A while ago, when I installed XP, I had to install another GS in the new boot-HD, because the one in the old C:\…
was not found, while it was valid and worked quite fine…
- Result : Disk space wasteful…

- Just my 0.02 €…

fixed the problem:

Older version of Ghostscript left a registry key intact.
I deleted the old AFPL key and it works now!

perhaps that helps?

try looking in your registry
hkey local machine->software->afpl

and delete this key if using GPL version

Hi; I'm having exactly the same problem as Michael: no pdf (no matter the location, path lenght, etc) is viewable in XNView, which returns the dialog box "GhostScript not found".

System:
Windows Vista 64-bit
XNView 1.91 full
AFPL GhostScript v 8.56

Please help ?

has three entries:
(Default)
GS_DLL
GS_LIB

all three of type "REG_SZ"

Yes, my error, the path should be "local_machine" etc, with the entries noted above.
