I was exploring the facilities available in XnView for SlideShow.

The SlideShow has a facility to insert a wide variety of selected information (fields). But I was wishing to display the Current Picture No / Total Number of Selected Pictures. (Similar to Page_No / No_of_Pages).

Presently only FileName Number & Numeric numerator only are there.

Thanks for your attention / response as always.

Do you mean <File> from fullscreen "show information"? If so, I agree, it should be also for slide show.

Yes. Create -> Slideshow -> More options -> Show Information -> Insert , to describe it completely.

Additional field requested : Current SlideNo & Total slides

Thanks for your comment.

I use <File Index>.

I use <File>. It seems to be missing from the slideshow options menu.
Thanks marsh, for your response.

I too could not find <File> in version No 1.90.2. I could only find a field by name 'Filename Number', which gives the number generated by auto rename function ( as I understand).

But this 'Filename Number' has some disadvantages. Firstly I may not rename my files at all. Secondly even if I rename, I may not select ALL the renamed files in the folder for slideshow.

The purpose of my request is to enable to see the current progress of the slideshow. To achieve this objective, a counter like current_slide_number may be provided with an initial value of 1 and incremented by 1 as the show advances to the next slide. This arrangement will be meaningful even when slideshow option is selected as 'Random'

Hope Pierre will consider this request favaourably.

I use <File Index>.
Yes, this feature is already implemented, but only for Fullscreen, it's missing in the Slideshow "show informatio" insert>> button menu.

But I see it works, just type this manually:

<File Index>

Since it works, it should be definitely added also to menu.

Sorry I meant <File Index>, not <File>, HTML has changed the text of the post.

The field <FileIndex> added in version 1.90.3, is meeting the requirements. Thanks to Pierre and dreamer
