When a file is copied into a folder where a file with the same name alreaedy exist, instead of asking to rewrite, rename or skip, it copies the file with a name "Copy of <file>".

Not sure if this strange behaviour is possible to change in Tools Options but I did not manage to find it.

How do you make the copy?? You should have the 'ask dialog' box

A problem is that I have returned to version 1.82.4, so I cannot claim how it is in the latest version that I tried for some time. What I can now say is this:

Let's suppose I have a file 001.jpg in folder PICTURES and a file 001.jpg in the ROOT folder. When I move it by mouse, the dialog really appears (but I don't use it because it kills the descriptions). I usually take the picture file 001.jpg in the root, press CTRL+X or CTRL+C (depending on what I wish to do) and then go to folder PICTURES and press CTRL+V. In this car I am not asked about rewriting or renaming but a new file Copy of 001.jpg appears there.

If I copy one file, it is not a problem to rename it (if I realize that or notice that) but if I copied several tenths of files and then I had to delete the old ones and manually rename all the new ones, it get to be a real issue.

Please, try the same with the latest version (I think it was the same though I hesitate to confirm it) and if it's OK there, I will try it again and let you know.

Also, I am not sure if there are some settings that could control this behaviour, but I did not find it.

Thank you,

Marty
