Start up directory bug

Hi
I'm using 1.90.2. When I change the specified start-up directory in Tools>Options>General, XnView crashes when I exit and reverts back when I re-open. I get the 'There is a problem' dialog box - I've clicked the 'send' button.
Please help

Brian

You have a crash after quitting the option dialog?? No problem if you change other options?

Sorry for the delay. The crash does not happen when I close the dialog box, it happens when I exit the program after changing the start-up folder. It also happens it I use the other options - Last Used or Current.

You have it always? On which OS?

Windows XP Pro, Athlon x2 64 CPU. It happens every time. I removed 1.90, re-installed 1.82.4 and it stopped happening. I went back to 1.90.2, and it is still there. I can send you the data report if you wish.

Hi,

I'm having a similar problem. If I go to tools->options->general and select the "Use All Formats" option, XnView will crash when you exit the program. Also the change to the Options is gone when I restart the program, so it appears that the change is not being saved. In fact it seems that it doesn't matter which option is changed. If you change any option, the program abends when you exit the program.

Pierre,

Sorry for the late reply, I've been out of the office for a while. It seems to happen for all options (not just "Use all formats available"). I haven't tried them all, but I've tried several. The bottom line is that XnView abends when I try to exit the program if one of the options has been altered.

Thanks,

Richard

Could you try by opening a empty folder? Brian had a problem with some strange files!

Pierre,

That solved the problem! I don't know what files were causing the problem, but when I changed directories it worked fine. Thanks for your help!

Could you try to find which file is the problem?

Pierre,

I'll try and isolate the file that's causing the problem. It may take a little time. I'll let you know when I've found something.
