can't listen to mp3-music

Hi,

I have downloaded the program a week ago but I can't listen to mp3's. I had the same problem with my old program, and so did my dad. We both use XnView now but my dad doesn't have any trouble listening to mp3.
Maybe we're stupid we just don't find the solution ourselves...

A bit more:
When an mp3 file is selected, a lot of numbers appear. In options I deselected some things so now the numbers no longer appear, but the songs still won't play.
I don't know what's wrong it's very strange, mpg works: if I simply change the name of the file (for example song.mp3 into song.mpg) the song DOES play :| No converting, just changing the file's name...
But you know, I have a lot of songs I can't just simply change them all...

I don't get it, and I'd really like it to work, does anyone know what I can do about this?

Thanks!
xNes

I strongly recommend using foobar2000 for music, quality is much better with Kernel Streaming support.

I do not have this problem. Evenwith the mp3 extention, I am able to hear the music. The quality of music is another matter.
I use version 1.90.3.
