Selection ratio not working

1. Open an image that is "standing/portrait".
2. Set selection ratio to "same as image".
3. Make a selection.
4. The selection is not as the image. Can anyone confirm?

It seems to work fine if the image is "lying/landscape". When looking closer, it looks like the proportions of the image are OK but the rotation is wrong.

There has always been issues with the selection ratio being inverted in one way or another. It was supposedly fixed in some version, but maybe only part of the problem was fixed. (The previous reported bug was with the ratio being inverted when using a "custom" selection.)

A band-aid solution is the TAB button. Once you have a selection, hitting TAB will invert it.

Great, thanks for the tips.

That's a bug.

Actually, until now my understanding was that you would have to make a selection first and then apply "Set selection ratio". But you're right, it supposed to work the other way round, too.

Haven't tried that, does it work the other way around?

Yes. If you make a selection and then select a ratio, it'll make your selection that ratio.
