Hello
I cannot say thanks often enough for the first x64 ShellExtension, I was missing this since I installed Vista x64 on my machine.
Anyway, a have some ideas for this addon:
- free selectable preview size, or at least some square ones, 250x250 being my favorite one
- option to copy the current picture to the clipboard (the image data not the path as with the normal copy
- make convert and "set as background" (which is available for the most used formats anyway from the system) options in the submenu or configurable at all
- move all options to a tool window that opens at request or (even better) make the options available from within XnView (cause I guess with some more ideas, the options in the submenu will quickly stack up)
- rename the "no preview for EPS/PDF" to "preview..." cause such options are always confusing
ShellExtension suggestions

I agree. Let's keep the context menu as clean as possible. Let the end user decide what they want there.
Personally, I would only need the preview, because once I had everything set the way I wanted, there would be no reason to access the settings again any time soon.
Also, I agree with with letting the user choose the preview dimensions.
And, how about allowing the user to click on the preview and have the image actually open in a viewer (again, set in the options which can be tucked neatly away.)
I think what myself and the original poster want is almost perfectly implemented in this program, FirmTools ShellExtension.

I'm a firm believer in the philosophy of a ruling class, especially since I rule.

Seems the ShellExtension is a byproduct, even a very good one. So the ideas may take a while to be integrated...
The firmtools Addon ist not available in x64 version, AFAIK XnView is the only x64 Context preview at the moment.
For the "configurable" preview size, I "hacked" some of my liking into the dll
