File conversion issue

I recently designed a logo using MS Publisher and need to convert it to either a bmp or jpeg. Is there any way to do this using xnview? I tried but keep getting a message that file format not established. This has been driving me nuts. I have tried different programs to do this and nothing works. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Bob :?:

What format is the image currently in?

hmm... According to this page: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publi ... 61033.aspx you can save the image to jpeg or bmp from within publisher itself.

:) Hello !

• I don't know which (twisted) format this M$ thingy products…

- But I've just a simplistic idea as a workaround :

- Display the logo you created in its original M$ soft,
- Press “PrintScreen”
- Paste the content of the Clipboard in MS Paint, save the file…
- Open that BMP in XnView, crop the image to get it as the right needed area (zoom in if necessary),
- Save it again as BMP, or Save As… another usual format…
• Just my 0.10 € (inflation, inflation !)

 Kind regards,

Why paste it into M$ paint? Just paste it directly into xnview, crop, save as bmp or jpeg or any of the other billion or so formats xnview allows you to save as. You could also use xnview's built in screen capture utility to bypass the clipboard altogether.

Based on that site I linked, I'm guessing he saved it in publisher native/proprietary format.

And the bug ?

:) Again…

• Because in the 1.91, there is a pretty bug with Import the Clipboard, that indeed you can't see in that forum,
it's reported in the French section HERE :P
Note : I've betted 1 € on this with myself, sure you'll tell that ! Image

Can't make much sense of that thread using babelfish. "Alt+ImprÉcran"???

I use xnview for all my screenshots, and as I stated in the other thread, I've been using 1.91 since it came out. I hit the print screen button or alt+print screen, shift+ctrl+V, and get a perfect shot every time.

The design I created is a .pub extension. I'm new with this conversion thing which is why I am having so many problems but that to those who replied. Bob

:) BabelFish is a big dung, especially for French …

• For short :
------------------------------
Bug with Import Clipboard…
• I just noticed a bug in that function using Alt+PrintScreen, like shown below @ left hand :

Image Image

• @ right hand, the same content of the clipboard, within the next minute in 1.82.4, it's correct, no problem…
-------------------
- The bug has been reproduced by Pierre who announced it's fixed up in a 1.91.1, so maybe he did a kind of “silent update” ?
- It was confirmed by users too.
- It occurs(occured ?) only when you import from Alt+PrintScreen,
whether you select an area on any image >> Copy >> Import Clipboard, that works…

Foulrift- Based on that site I linked, the only prog other than publisher that can open .pub files is one adobe product. You'll have to export the image from publisher in an image format like jpeg or bmp, or in EMF format (and then use xnview to convert it).

Clo- I downloaded 1.91 shortly after it was posted, so while it's possible that the bug was fixed & the file changed before I got it, it's very unlikely. Maybe the bug only occurs with certain versions of windows or something?
I usuallyjust use plain printscreen (no alt+) to take screenshots, but I made a point of trying alt+printscreen to try to reproduce the bug, but still have no problems.

I just noticed that I do get part of this bug. While the colors don't change (perhaps that part only occurs on older versions of windows, or when the "classic" style is used?), I do get the shifting to the right & tacking the cropped off piece of the right side stuck onto the left side.

Not so old---

:) Hello !

• I use Win XP-Pro SP1, thus not so old… The colour issue could be caused by the 16 BPP on the screen,
I didn't try with 32 BPP before, but I did now, and it's the same mess.

- Well, just some hours to wait for 1.91.1, it might be out today…

By "old", I meant pre-xp (ie, one that doesn't have the modern themes). Try using one of the modern themes (yes, I know all the default ones are butt-friggin ugly, but you can turn it off again after the test :p ), and try doing an alt+printscreen test.

Everything there is it's proper color. While it does the shifting to the right thing, the ammount seems less than in yours.

(Just for the record, I'm on xp, sp2.)
