Background Thumbnail caching

Well i like browsing through image folders, but the problem I have with it is that I have and get lot of high resolution images.. avg 2mb+ per image for just jpg files, and so the time it takes to go through these images takes a while as its also generating the thumbnails.

What would great if there was either a seperate program or a built in dialog that I could specify a root folder, and just let XnView go through generating its thumbnails for all folders selected.. That way I could just leave it to do all that stuff, then when I do go through those folders thats one less slowdown.

The other thing with it generating its thumbnails before hand, it means i can quickly go through folders, and delete stuff without having to wait for XnView to finish caching thumbnail stuff I might not keep anyway.

Just think this would be a very nice added extra to speed things up for those power users.. maybe someone else could program it and still have it generate XnView compatible thumbnail cache files?

anyway also wanting to know whats happening with XnView development these days?

Do you use embedded thumbnail? And you can do that in option/Cache!
