[OK] Add exit to right mouse button menu

Another suggestion.
Add exit to right mouse button menu (to last row) to browser, viewer and fullscreen.
I need it mainly for fullscreen, because now it's not possible to exit xnview directly with a mouse - in fullscreen.
Thanks.
Edit - Poll:
"Yes, Close and Exit" means this:
Close . . . . . . . Esc ---> (same function like Escape key)
Exit . . . . . . Alt+F4 ---> (always exit xnview, last row)
Notes:
LMB = left mouse button
RMB = right mouse button
MMB = middle mouse button (you can switch between fullscreen and viewer with this)
If you want know more about the "hidden" fullscreen options
read this.

Rather than adding 'Exit' to the context menu (context menu opens when using right mouse button), a menu item 'Close' should be added. When using 'Close', it closes the current view and depending on the way the window was opened, XnView might also exit (similar to 'Esc' key, see topic
'Esc' should exit XnView.).
I don't want an explicit 'Exit' in the context menu.

I don't agree!
If you go to fullscreen from browser, you can go back with left mouse button double-click.
If you go to fullscreen from viewer, you can go back with middle mouse button.
You can exit fullscreen even with "Full screen" in the context menu.
But if you want
exit xnview in fullscreen with a mouse, you can't (now).

I couldn't reproduce what you have written above. I think that I have to change some settings to make the above things work. But I think that it's not so important.
The important bit is to understand why you need a direct exit from fullscreen. Could you give some more background and describe the way you would like to work and what XnView should do (sort of 'use case')?

You must disable 'mouse navigation' in fullscreen, then you'll get LMB double-click for go to browser and RMB menu (BTW here comes another problem, if you'll check also 'hide mouse cursor' it will not appears even if mouse is moved and RMB is clicked - for RMB menu)

I need 'direct exit xnview' because if I open image from program like Total Commander (Servant Salamander) with a mouse, I can switch images with a mouse (scroll) and I want also exit xnview with a mouse (with one hand). It's more comfortable and faster (if it would be in last row) and it's like that in many other programs... (video players, other image viewers possibly...)
...so I just need
always-direct exit xnview in the last row of RMB menu... Pierre already wrote that he'll add it, so I hope he'll add it

Thank you for explaining. With the settings you described, I could open the context menu, now. But I still do not understand why 'Close' should not be sufficient in your case. Since 'Close' would work the same way as the 'Esc' key, XnView would exit in your case, which is exactly what you want. So I still think that 'Exit' in the context menu is not needed and should not be there.
Wouldn't it be even strange if there was an 'Exit' but no 'Close' menu item?

I want
always exit xnview with a mouse in fullscreen (like Alt+F4 with a keyboard, NOT 'Escape'), even if I'm in browser or viewer and then I'm in fullscreen.

I don't need some features too, but I don't think that they should not be there, because many other people could need them...

Definitely not! Look at your desktop and try to find one program/window without X (exit) button. I don't think you find some. Try RMB menu in winamp - last row - Exit, I just want the same in xnview, where it's more important, because there is no other way to exit xnview in fullscreen (with a mouse).
Why you want 'close' if you can do the same with 'full screen' (in RMB menu) and even very easy with a middle mouse button.
I think that more confusing is 'Esc' button (or could be your 'Close'), because it sometimes switch to viewer and sometimes exit xnview (even for me, because sometimes I don't know if I was in browser/viewer or no...).

So you'll add it Pierre? You'll add just "Exit" or "Close" too? But if you'll add both, please add Exit to the last row, it's very important for me, could you confirm that you'll add it please? Thank you!

I still think that this is not a good feature. I don't want to be the one who stops development and progress of XnView, but this feature will confuse many people and help few. Many people will exit the application without actually wanting this.
Please reconsider or add an option "Show 'Exit' in context menu" which is inactive by default.

Exit in the last row of RMB menu is a standard in many programs (in windows it's on every window) so I don't think it would be confusing for someone. I still think that more confusing is an 'Esc' key, because it sometimes exit xnview and sometimes not...
Also, who will use 'Close' in RMB menu for 'go to viewer' if the same is possible very quickly with MMB?
But - this could help (against confusion)... add a hotkey Alt+F4 beside it, or add 'Close' too, like this...
Close . . . . . . . Esc ---> (same function like Escape key)
Exit . . . . . . Alt+F4 ---> (always exit xnview, last row)

Until now, I've never seen an application with 'Exit' in the context menu. I've just looked up in WinZIP, Internet Explorer, Word, and some more. And even PowerPoint which displays images in fullscreen hasn't 'Exit'.[/quote]
Dreamer wrote: I still think that more confusing is an 'Esc' key, because it sometimes exit xnview and sometimes not...
Maybe the 'Esc' key can be confusing, but if people don't like its behaviour, they can change it. Also, the 'Esc' key is a key that is pressed on purpose, not by accident.
In your case "Opening an image in MS Explorer and viewing it in XnView (fullscreen)", the menu item 'Exit' makes 100% sense. But in most other cases, including the standard cases, it doesn't. The disadvantages overweigh, so if 'Exit' was supported it should only come with an option which is deactivated.
I think a 'Close' which behaves like 'Esc' makes sense and can be useful.
At the moment we have a sort of "1:1" situation and I have the feeling that you and I keep repeating ourselves. So I'd like to know what other people think. Anyone?

And what about this, not enough for you?

Me too, so I'll start a poll...
