Performing path operations synchronously in the database

Hi,
If I rename a folder via XnView with thousands of images, all thumbs are generated again, which can take much time, and perhaps even worse all ratings and colour labels get lost. Just renaming the corresponding path in the database would solve this problem.
In principle it would be perfect if all operations like copying, moving, renaming files or folders via XnView would be performed also synchronously in the database. For file operations I think it is perhaps not so easy as for folder operations because it can concern many (selected) files in contrast to only one folder. Perhaps file entry synchronization in database could be offered only after enabling in Tools/Options.
In this context it would be perhaps interesting to offer moving and copying folders in the browser window with synchronously adjusting the database, which I assume to be easy(?) to perform
