XnView Software

Hello,

I am trying to view & convert .prn files, (targeted to an epson 2200 printer), to .png for further editing; (the mathematical program I'm using is most accurate when compiling an image for print).

I have installed XnView for Windows 1.91.1 , (Libformat Version 4.79) ; along with Ghostscript AFPL gs854w32, on a system running Windows XP version 5.1 Service pack 2 build 2600 .

At the moment, .prn files open in XnView but appear blank . I see that Ghostscript is necessary, and believe I've gathered the right components; can someone walk me through the integration ?

Try opening a PDF file in xnview, see if it opens. Usually if xnview can't find ghostscript, it won't open the file at all, it'll just give a "couldn't open file, ghostscript not found" error. For it to open a file, but just have it be blank is unlikely to be an integration error.
To see if the problem is in ghostscript itself, go to ghostscript's bin folder (should be located at C:\Program Files\gs\gs8.54\bin or something similar) and you'll see a gswin.exe program. Drag your prn file onto it and see if it opens properly. If it's still just blank, then the problem is either with ghostscript or with the file.
If it opens in ghostscript directly without any problems, then try changing the extension to .ps or .pdf and opening it in xnview.

If all else fails, then the problem may be that xnview isn't 100% compatible with that version of ghostscript. This doesn't seem likely though, since I've also been using ver 8.54 without difficulty.

If possible, you should post the prn file you're working with here, so that we can run some tests ourselves. Otherwise, we're just taking guesses at the problem. If you need a place to upload it, you can upload files at rapidshare.com and then post the link here.
