problem with forward/back history ?

Not sure if this is the right forum, but since I don't know if this is a bug, I thought I'd start here...

Is the forward/back history supposed to work the way it does in Windows Explorer (and other apps), where you not only go to the previous directory, but also to the previous file? It doesn't work that way for me, but in the discussion in the Suggestions thread, it seemed like it's supposed to.

If it doesn't, is it cool to cross-post this to Suggestions, because it would sure be handy...? I've got a directory with about 14000 pix that I'm trying to clean up. Problem is that I keep finding other pix elsewhere in file managers, and dumbass me can't keep from clicking on them. Of course, that switches XnView do the other directory, and even if I can jump back to the previous directory, I've got to scroll through thousands of pix to pick up where I left off. Not the handiest thing in the world.

Am I missing something, or does this sound like reasonable behavior (or a useful enhancement) to anyone...?

The current behaviour is only for directory, but perhaps a useful enhancement...
