On my dual monitor system, the program always starts on monitor 1 and will not remember position on monitor 2.

I have remember window position and size enabled in the options.

I have to confirm this behaviour: XNView, closed on Monitor 2, is always opened later in Monitor 1.

Still exists in 1.91.4

Pierre: this is really important, because often monitor 1 is the "main" monitor, the bigger or better one, and is often better for displaying the images than the file list!

Still not for me. (1.96.5)
on XP SP2,
nVidia 8800 GT, Omega driver, version: 2.169.21,
Two monitors: lefty is the secondary (res: 1280x1024, shift: -1280x48), on its right is the primary (res: 1920x1200)

Thanks in advance

That's the problem I guess (left=2nd, right=1st).

Yepp!
Thanks the hint. That was the problem!
Now I changed the positions of the two monitors. Now primary is on the left side.

When I tried to figure it out, I've noticed that the main windows position automatically changed if it was in negative position.

Thanks the help again.

Bye

This issue is affecting me still at version 1.96.5 as follows:

* When XnView is started from a program shortcut, the previous window position on 2nd monitor is remembered successfully when restarted.

* When XnView is started from an associated image file icon, the previous window position on 2nd monitor is NOT remembered, and window appears on monitor 1. The Y coordinate appears to be remembered, but the X coordinate is lost and reverts to zero. The window SIZE appears to be remembered successfully in any case.

Confirmed 'Remember last window position/size' setting is enabled. The behavior persists when the 'Use different position/size for browser & view' setting is either enabled or disabled.
I'm using WinXP SP3, dual Dell 2407WFP 24-inch LCD monitors, ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro video adapter.

Just keeping up the apparent tradition of pointing out that this still isn't fixed (197.2) [Win7 x64], despite being labelled as fixed in the 1.96 changelog.

Works (kind of) if the window on 2nd monitor is never maximized, but that rather defeats the purpose of viewing photos...

Is there at least a reason this (seemingly) can't be fixed?

This is still an issue in 1.99. It's 2012, not having an adequate multi-monitor support is ridiculous.
