Program starts in slideshow mode

Hi!
I have version 1.91.2 installed on my Win2K.
When I start XnView from Explorer, double-clicking an image, (or from within Total Commander, pressing enter on an image file - that is, going through the file association system of Windows) the program starts in slideshow mode. This way I can't go to windowed view or browser mode, I can only quit with ESC.
This is not what I would expect. I'd like it to start in full screen or windowed view mode (even the browser mode would be a relief). I checked all the options in the menu of XnView at least three times but I couldn't work it out.
XnView starts in the desired mode only if I select "XnView" in the "Send To" cascading menu of image files.
Is there a workaround for my problem?
