BMP files viewing is bugged

I often work with BMP files and I've noticed that the new versions are bugged. I can see fine the BMP images on the vignette side but once I click on any of them to see them on the viewer on the other side there is no image to see. Same thing when I double-click on an image on the vignette side to see it full size, again, the BMP does not show.

Which BMP ?

:) Hello ! Welcome aboard !

• Which BMPs are you talking of ? I tested here 24 BPP ones, that works like a charm as well in a thumb nails board
as in View¦Preview¦Full screen…
- Whether you display 32 BPP-BMP, you could check the transparency options (changed in the 1.90.3 version)

 Kind regards,

[OT] BTW, I see “vignette” in your message, so you could use the French section here ;)

hi,

I have the same problem in viewing BMP files. The bug also still exists in the newest version 1.91.4.

Some BMP files cannot be shown correctly in both thumbnail mode and view/full screen mode in XnView. But they are OK in mspaint program and any other picture viewer/editor.

Here I don't know how to upload the attachment of sample BMP file, so I'll give you a hint to reproduce it. Use Media Player Classic to play RMVB movie and take a snapshot by MPC (not screen snapshot), save the bmp file and use XnView to view it.

Perhaps it's a 32bits picture, and you have a bad alpha channel. So disable View/Use alpha channel

Yeah, it goes OK after I disabled the option. But I noticed that the thumbnail in browser still wasn't shown correctly. Is there any option to let it not use alpha channel in thumbnail ?
