linux nconvert guide? (using mandriva)

is there a guide anywhere on using nconvert with linux? installed
the x86 version but got error when trying to run nconvert. do i
need to be admin? do i need to run from a specific directory?
where does the nconvert executable live? the xnview gui seems
to run ok.
