Error while opening unzipped directory

Hi !

I unzipped a directory with some scans in jpg format,
but I got an error message "error while opening file...".
Xnview started after the said error message, but failed to generate the
thumbnails and left the space for the thumbs simply blank.

Interestingly this was resolved, when I copied the
jpgs into a new folder. Xnview then proceeded to create the
thumbnails as ususal.

The unzipped Folder was apparently named with Katakana (=japanese)
Characters, which Xnview (or my system) could not handle correctly.
So I´m not sure if this is a error related to Xnview or my OS ?
This is how the folder was displayed in my explorer:

So, with this *ahem* workaround I can go on, but why has
Xnview such problems with this ?

Any paths or file names with unicode simply don't work for now. They'll show up in xnview as ???? and won't show up right. All you can do is strip the unicode characters out (which copying seemed to do on your system). It's a pretty common request.

Ok, thanks.
So its really a minor problem.

Then I will handle it like I described from now on.
