XnView Software

I have a CD containing over 70 irreplaceable jpg images which were corrupted when copied from an SD card to a CD by a commercial operator while I was overseas.

Of the several image-processing software programs which I have tried, including IrfanView, XnView is the only program which will enable me to see most of these images (although 23 irreplaceabe images are completely lost, even to XnView).

However, when I try to copy these image files from the CD to another file, I get a message saying that 'copying of image is prohibited, apply to owner', or something like that, and the program completely locks up and the CD has to be reinserted and opened.

Can someone please advise me what settings I should use in XnView to enable me to recover and copy these files. (I am using Windows 98SE, which meets all my requirements and I see no need to change operating systems.)

And you can't copy them with windows explorer?

When dealing with CDs which can no longer be read it's always a good idea to try on a second or third computer. Error correction in CD drives varies a lot and you may be lucky getting some or all of your data back. (Don't want to promise too much, but it's worth a try if you haven't tried, yet).
