Better 8bf support

Hello!
I really glad to use you awesome image viewer, but now i found one irritating thing.
When you have small number of 8bf filter, then *bf manager window show up relatively fast...but if you connect more and more filters - then more sluggish manager become.
OK, i understand that it is not so smart to connect ALL 8bf filters to XnView.
Yes...but question is WHY 8bf manager so slow EVERY time, but not only once ?
I suppose that XnView not cache list of filters in any way, but WHY? XnView wants to keep list up to date every moment?
Lets see...GIMP already have 8bf support via plugin and this plugin check filters list on GIMP start-up and keep this list fixed until GIMP restarted. Not so dynamic-friendly, but really faster then Xn.
I think - Xn must cache filters list and recache them if 8bf configuration changer or on user demand.
There is no need to rebuild filters list every time Photoshop Filters window called.
---
and...maybe, request #2
Xn now have useful plugin - FTP.
Yes, it very impressive, but...
I CANNOT select several images (group of images) and send them to FTP in images browser...it's so sad...
Yes, theoretically i can send group of them via file manager, but it's much harder...
Only if i can...

Yes, right!

What's happened if you select more than 1 file and use FTP?

Is caching 8bf list really so hard to implements? I think caching can really boost performance.
Even more, i tried open 8bf manager and delete one of filters after...when i tried run deleted filter - XnView immediately crashed :) So...dynamically updated filter list not always can prevent stupid mistakes.
Now i have ~250 filters in list
Huge ? Yes, it's crazy huge list, but actually it BEST of all available filters...but on this list XnView become significantly slower...
So. maybe 8bf list caching can be implemented even as option?
In example - IrfanView have no performance troubles on such filter list, no at all! Just because it, possibly, use list cache.
However, IrfanView not support "group" feature and show list as unsorted sequence. Not so useful...

I cannot access FTP plugin when i in Folder view mode, only in Image view.
So, i can send to FTP images one after one- if you need upload 100 images - it not funny stuff.
At current moment i can only use special software to map-FTP-host-as-local-drive and "copy" selected files to "virtual drive", but this method very unstable and freeze XnView GUI

Whether…

:) Hello !
…I cannot access FTP plugin when i in Folder view mode, only in Image view. …
• The F T P-plugin is set in the Tools Menu >> Plugin >> F T P … as well in the Browser mode.
- These dynamic entries disappear whether you have edited that menu in the ressource of your language DLL
(in example to correct anything…), that I experienced here in French…
- Or else, that works, I can send several images as one go,
but I guess that the installed default mailer does matter too (Eudora here).

 Kind regards,
Claude

Hello,
Xnview FTP plugin is only a plugin, if you need some extra FTP tool, have a look on software like : Leechftp (freeware), ....

Oh, sorry, FTP issue is really my mistake.
Yes, really, i can batch upload several images to remote server, thanks for instruction, although FTP plugin is pretty basic.
So request #2 goes invalid.
But my first request - about 8bf caching - still here....

Long time no see, sorry.
I'm VERY glad that you have listened to my suggestion and improved 8bf support.
It makes me happy :)
But i have some questions...
Is 8bf cache live between sessions or recreated on every XnView start-up ?
Can plugin manager support some kind of alphabetical sorting of plugins groups?
See, i have almost 30 Filter Factory Gallery issues, but in plugin chooser they sorted pretty much randomly or some how else...
I have something like this -
+FF Gallery 10
+FF Gallery 5
+FF Gallery 20
+FF gallery 17
This is not a big problem, i think....but not always useful.
Well, sorry for begging for new exchanges, so, thanks :)
