Hi
While batchconverting in xnview (1.70.2) I accidententally deleted my original jpg's.
I recovered them with an undeleting program, but they are now inaccessible by xnview or several other viewers.
They still have a jpg extension but according to the program EXIF the files start with (by example) 0x85 0xa0 and so is not a jpg.
Anybody a brilliant idea how to repair this.

Can you hex edit the file and just change the first 2 values? Not sure if that would work or not...

When searching the internet for keywords "JPG repair damaged file header" you will get good hits with valuable hints.
I've only read a very small bit of the info found. One of the hits which I find good is in
Google answers. In the discussion also a software named "Pixrecovery" is mentioned which is intended for repairing JPG files. The link is
http://www.officerecovery.com/pixrecovery/, there's a demo version, the software is not free.
Let us know how you go...
