Error icon showing over *.cpt (Corel Photopaint) files

Windows XP SP1
XnView 1.91.6
I don't know if you would call this a bug, but I regard it as a defect because, if my memory is correct, it is something didn't happen in earlier versions of XnView.
Corel Photopaint hooks into the shell and displays its own thumbnails of *.cpt file as icons in Windows explorer etc.
This works fine in XnView in icon, list and details view, but not in thumbnails view.
What happens is that the *.cpt thumbnails show up momentarily but then are quickly overwritten with a default error icon.
On my PC the image is in the directory...
C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\System\images\error.gif
I know that this is not a common problem but I'm hoping that there is an easy solution.
PS. XnView is an excellent program.
Ron.
