:) Hello !

• Please, tell us in which format your screen shots are saved. Making them from the game stuff (?),
they could be as a undocumented “proprietary format”, hence not any external viewer should be able to display them…

• Try also that follows :
When running the game, press (ALT+) PrintScreen keys.
- Then open XnView and paste the content of the clipboard from File Menu >> Import Clipboard.
- Whether you get an image as <Clipboard_01> or so, save it as an usual common format, i.e. PNG or JPG.
- No guarantee that it works, though, some applications lock¦steal these keys
(I know one that's not a game… Pretty boring !)

 Kind regards,
Claude

After opening the screenshot (TGA) in XnView, go to the View menu and deactivate Use alpha channel.

This works during game play for both Warcraft 3 versions: Mac and PC.

1) The screen gets copied into the Windows Clipboard.
2) A TGA file is created (by the game itself).
*When I Paste the Clipboard contents into MSPaint, the screenshot looks OK.
*When I open the TGA file with a hex viewer, I get a repeating 00 FF 00 FF pattern for almost the whole file.
*WarCraft III is a DirectX 8 game, it is possible that an update of DirectX 9.0 has broken the screenshot function, maybe an older version of DirectX 9.0 could fix this (well installing an older version is NOT desirable).
DirectX 9.0c alone has like maybe 10 updates since it was first released, so it’s now basically more of a DirectX 9.0d…

*I did take WarCraft TGA screenshots OK, but it was back in 2004. I was using a GeForce 4 Ti then… I wonder if it is a videocard problem or a software (newer drivers/Directx) issue.
