tango toolbar ... please

there are somebody interested in make a TANGO skin, toolbar, buttons?
i've tried to change manually the buttons, but on next restart the applied icons disappeared.
Modifying an existing toolbar of the default installation is possible?.
Otherwise, if somebody can tell me how to edit one of the existing toolbar, i'll try myself...

tango icons

hello everybody:
i asked before how to begun to skin the toolbars of xnview.
then, after read the manual (and hardly understanding) i pick up several png icons from the tango free desktop. After that i made a bmp in microsoft paint with pink background (255-0-255) and 816x24 pixels.
But i can't make the icons transparent. I get a black or white background when i paste the icons in paint. Then when i apply the toolbar the icons have a black square surround.
Anybody can help me?

Hello !
• Whether your "icons" are 24×24 pixels, your main bitmap might be 792×24 pixel (or else, width_of_one_image×33).
- The Magenta background works for BMP 256 colours.
- The skin creation is explained alright in English and in French; sorry, I don't know other languages fluently…
