Fuji RAF to TIFF conversion.

When I convert a Fuji RAF (RAW) file to TIFF, the TIFF file is frequently sufferes a levels conversion. Either it is darker or lighter than the TIFF image should be.

I know this because I have converted Fuji RAF files with s7raw (a Fuji RAF converter program) and compared the results with NConvert'ed images.

They do not look the same.

Is this problem being addressed? I really want to use XnView exclusively from start to finish but the poor RAF->TIFF conversion makes that impossible.

I can supply test images in Fuji RAF format.

Yes please. Do you have tried to change gamm/brightness for RAW?

The settings for reading CameraRaw are:

High Resolution: Yes
Automatic White Balance: No
Use Camera White Balance: Yes
Gamma: 1.000
Brightness: 0.200
Red Scaling: 1.000
Blue Scaling: 1.000

These settings are ok but they appear to be inconsistently applied. Each RAF file seems to get it's own Levels adjustment.

Unconverted RAF:

Converted and resized by s7raw
http://pancyl.com/images/FUJIRAF/DSCF1046S7R.TIF

Converted and resized by XnView
http://pancyl.com/images/FUJIRAF/DSCF1046XNV.TIF

Compare them and you will see that the conversion done by XnView is not right.
