When viewing images, it looks nice to have the surrounding background in a similar tone as the image's main colour. (Here, with background I mean the area which appears whenever the image does not fully fit the screen).

This "Automatic background tone" feature might be nice for viewing any image, at first I suggest it for slide shows.

What do you think?

• It's indeed interesting. However, a very similar request to improve the reading of images having a transparent BG
- with regard to the window BG-colour - remains unanswered since 2007, October 14th.
- The original start message is dated January, 6th. 2007, by the user Cnuut (who -alas- didn't continue to post here…)

• Most certainly, the goal is a bit different, but the proposed stuff to perform it is (maybe)
simpler to code than an automatic BG-colour…

• I would like a good synthesis of these two proposals… without putting a gun on the Pierre's head !
