Video thumbnail gallery - Various issues

The possibility to create a sort of contact sheet for a video is really cool. Well done - Pierre!
You have guessed it - there is a "but". But:
Naming
Currently I try to find a good German translation for "Video thumbnail gallery". When thinking about it, I think that the English naming could be improved. Why not call it "Contact sheet for Video..." or "Contact sheet for movie..." for example?
Screen layout: Contact sheet vs. Contact sheet for video
The parameters specified for contact sheet and contact sheet for video are very similar. Why not use a similar screen layout? (Currently, the screen layout of contact sheet for video is very different.)
BTW: Where do I set the height of the contact sheet?
"Timing"
Currently the timing/delay inbetween two images is calculated automatically (duration of movie divided by number of images in contact sheet). Perhaps it would be good to add a small note so that people understand better. XnView could even calculate and display the delay.
Later, the timing/delay could be set to "user-defined" and a specific value (e.g. (10 seconds), then several contact sheet might be created by XnView.
Window Title
Currently, the window title says "Create Contact sheet". This should be changed to whatever we decide above.
Show information
What does this checkbox do? Normally (=in other dialogs), "Show information" allows for adding placeholders and arbitrary text.

The video information area (show information setting)
It'd be nice, if the position (top, bottom) could be user defined. It's also bad, that the text starts right at the edge of the image. I think it'd be better if there was the same amount of padding around the whole text block as there is around each video screeshot.
Also: over here by default it was in white text on white background - aka invisible. Does it use settings from anywhere else as default, or does it use it's own settings? I think the background should be black by default, and the text silver, but that's just me.
@ Helmut:
Name: What about "Video contact sheet"? Using "...for..." makes it too long to read IMO.
Timing: Another approach would be to define how many "pages" should be created - how many individual contact sheets. That'd be more in line to what we have and be more intuitiv IMO.

"Video contact sheet" sounds goot to me. What do native English speakers think?

Yes, a good suggestion.
Note: I guess I should have written individual topics for each issue for easier handling.

I am no native speaker but may have a tip: type in the words you want to use in Google. Look how often they are found. Then look WHAT is found. I did that and therefore would say 'Video contact sheet' is perfect.

A good and handy hint. And if you want to see which word is used more often, you can even use

Invisible entry…

Hello !
• In the Create menu, this entry is totally absent as long as one doesn't select a video…
- IMHO, that's rather bewildering, hence I think that this entry might be always visible,
but indeed greyed out when not any appropriate file is selected…
• About the naming, I think that the notion of sampl¦e¦ing is missing, as well in English as in French…
• Processing the thingy as Contact sheet is not - perhaps- the best way to solve the issue.
The contact sheet is a bit long to prepare, and many times I would prefer simply all extracted samples
in a pre-defined folder, then view them simply as a board of normal thumb nails…
- Aside, I guess that the sampling could be quite user-defined, like proposed in the original claimant's request
HERE.

For me it's just grayed out.

That's not really part of the video contact sheet feature. That belongs into the "extract movie frames" feature. And yes, i'd like to have that as well, as i've stated before elsewhere.
At first start…

• Yes, then it is, but I meant at first start (here after upgrade), the entry is quite missing…

• I didn't forget that you had requested something in that painting a long while before…

Hmm... i haven't noticed that. But if you say so...
BTW: a great new feature. And it only took 3 years in the making!

I was just kidding. You're doing a great job with all the request and bugs your dealing.
