<-- Moderator's note: This topic has been split off from “Announcement: XnView 1.93 beta (1)”. -->
Thank you Pierre!
I've downloaded and tried it immediately, but I can't get the wallpaper section in the .ini file to work properly.
I've added these lines at the end of the file:
and the wallpaper image file stored in my user's folder is finally a jpeg file as it should be, but the wallpaper isn't displayed, the desktop is filled with the chosen color (the one you choose for example to fill spaces left by wallpapers that don't fit perfectly to your monitor Aspect ratio).
Can you reproduce this or do you think it's bound to something on my pc? (running win xp pro+sp2)
As always, many thanks in advance

No search Wallpaper section in the ini, and add only Format=jpeg

There isn't a Wallpaper section in my xnview.ini (not in the one I use for 1.92.1 nor in the new one created by the beta of 1.93)
That's why I've added it at the and of the file

If you mean the .ini file, I've chosen to store it in the same folder as the xnview's executable, but also changing this setting and storing the ini in the user folder (%appdata%/xnview) doesn't change anything, the Wallpaper section still isn't there, and if I add it manually as written in the post before, I get the same problem (empty desktop background)
If you mean the image file then yes, it is created in %appdata%/xnview in the format I've chosen (jpeg), but it isn't used as wallpaper.
Hope you can help me, I appreciate your work very much
Let me know if I can give you more information to understand where the problem is

right, but there is a problem.
If in 'display properties' you put a jpg as wallpaper, windows convert it always in \Documents and Settings\...\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Wallpaper1.bmp
So it seems that wallpaper can only be in bmp format!!!
With Vista ?

Again…
• Maybe the wallpapers are supporterd as PNG or else under
Vista ? I don't use it…
- I asked to my son who has Vista, but he sent me packing…

Ok here's mine people...
[Wallpaper]
Filename=xnv_desktop_1680x1050.bmp
Inserted between [View] and [Watermark]
in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\XnView\xnview.ini
I must confess I'm over having an archive of wallpapers too and I'm the one who originally asked for an archive feature too LOL
