Why does the Tree Pane is so slow to scroll?

Hi, i been using xnview for some time and i'm pretty happy with it, except for one thing:
i have a folder filled with alot of folders with image galleries inside (mostly jpeg), and while the scrolling on the thumbnail pane is very smooth the scroling on the tree pane is annoyingly slow and clunky, also when i scroll i notice alot of HD activity.
Is there a way to make the scrolling smoother? maybe i overlooked one setting, thanks in advance.

Perhaps you have many subfolders on them?

Most of folders don't have subfolders in them, but the photos contained are mostly big in size, taken straight from a 8 megapixel camera, could this be the problem?
Sometimes when i close xnview then start it shortly after the scrolling is smooth, but after many minutes/hours it gets slower again, here's a screenie of the problematic folder:

by the way i have thumbnail cache enabled (zip-lossless) and other performance hitting options such as use a custom ICC profiles are turned off.
Thanks in advance.

When you scroll the tree view, xnview check for each folder if a subfolder exists. Perhaps it's the problem. Could you send me by PM your email, i'll send you a test version...

Maybe this is a related issue:
In my Favorites list is one folder that lives on another (network) computer. When that other computer is offline, the favorites list takes 10-20 seconds to drop down from the mini-toolbar!
It's quite aggravating.

Yes, xnview try to get icon for path, so if the path is off, can take some time

Perhaps there is a way to avoid this?
Such as skip the icon for network shares, or set a time-out value in the ini?
