Warning 'Format of file (abcd.efg) could not be determined'

This is probably a very very basic question, but not sure why I can't fix it.

All I'm trying to do is set up xnview to open images, file association seem to be OK, but in that folder there are many other not image files, like .txt or .exe.

In win-explorer I hit ENTER while on the file, and instead of opening that image, I get many many errors like:

"Format of the file <abcd> could not be determined"

I tried installing the FULL version with shell extentions, etc. but still same error. With any other software I just change the file association and that's it.

on another computer it's working OK, for some reason on this one it's trying to open/scan the entire folder instead of just the opened image.

Reason for your problem is probably a wrong registry entry. Please see topic Can't view JPG file by using XnView for more details.

WOW!! ok.. I removed the "-slide" and now it's working as expected..

I thought that such an old bug would be fixed in 1.93.6.. I did have an older version, but I reinstalled the latest.. seems like the new installer doesn't take care of that spot..

thanks anyways.

Hmm, really not so good that this old problem isn't fixed by the installer. But good that we did find the problem quickly. :-)
