Slide Show enhancements

A few additions would make slide show functionality perfect:

1. ability to specify transition time AND effect PER SLIDE (not just for the whole show)

2. ability to show/not "show information" PER SLIDE (i.e. some show info, some do NOT, even if comment or other EXIF/IPTC data is entered)

2a. ability to change text position PER SLIDE [this is not particularly important, IMO . . .]

3. ability to TOGGLE show/not "show information" DURING slide show with keystroke

4. ability to export show to .SWF (not just .EXE or .SCR)

5. ability to specify sound PER SLIDE

You might want to look to ProShow Producer for some extra inspiration. [ http://www.photodex.com/products/producer/features.html ] IMO, ProShow is the gold standard in slide show production, but its cost limits it to professional use.

I recommend XnView to all my friends and clients, but the above limitations seem to be brought up consistently after those friends try to make slide shows.

XnView rocks!

Already possible - use the I key. That's why I have suggested a standard context menu - users don't know that some shortcuts exist.

Then you could support it, here.
4. ability to export show to .SWF (not just .EXE or .SCR)
Already requested - here.

Wow, that ProShow is some crazy software. Too bad that skinned interface doesn't scale!

Nevertheless, some interesting ideas there for enhancing XnView.
