Delay every time I open XnView

Hi

I have xnview at home on XP64 and don't have any problem.
I'm testing now xnview on my company to convince my boss to purchase it, but I'm noticing a very strange problem. Every time I open xnview and browse the directorys on the network, the program seems to crash for 2 or 3 min and after that it works fine.
We have dual quad cores on XP64 and have several network paths mapped.
Is this normal?

Thanks

Do you have only the problem with network?

Hi Xnview

I have just understand that the problem is not on the network.
Every time I open xnview everything works fine if I don't access the menu or click on “page up” or “page down”, I can even browse on the network. The first time I click the menu xnview freezes for 2 or 3 minutes. After that the menu works fine.
If I close the program and open it again the problem happens again.
Can you help me?

Thanks,
Mário

Which OS do you have?
Could you try to add in the .ini in [Start] section NoWIA=1

Hi

I have Windows XP64
Dual quad core 3.0 with 8Gb of ram

I don't know what is the ini that you talk about, could you be more specific?
The only ini file that I have on the xnview directory is "tip.ini"

Thanks,
Mário

xnview.ini is the file for settings, you'll find it in c:\Document settings\...\Application Data\XnView

I have identical problem. First time I click browser and then any item from menu, XnView "hangs" for exactly 2 minutes. W2003 32 bit, Athlon XP.

Even only the Info menu?

Hi xnview

Now this problem only happens in browse mode, and it happens the first time I access every menu or do something like a refresh pressing the F5 key.
Could this be an hardware issue?
I have a dual Xeon quadcore 3.0 with 8Gb of ram running on XP64

thanks

Hi,
I've a similar problem.
When i open a picture with xnview, it opens instantaneously but i have to wait something like 15-20s to be able to use it.
I've tried the NoWIA=1 tip but the problem is still here.
I have a Q6600, 2go of ram and XP 32bits

I don't have any problem when i launch Xnview with browse mode, but actually i never do that, i always open it when with a picture, i've just tried because i thought it could help you to find the origin of this problem.

The same effect is when minimizing or closing browser.
