Hello Pierre !
- Confirmed here. However, that does't occur for small images, i.e. : 32*32 icons or BMP.
- I could see that with a BMP around 500*500 px. Copied in Paint >>> Imported in XnView. The odd thing is : if I drag & drop the same image to the XnView icon in Total Commander, it's displayed alright, not any pixel is missing…

Best regards,
Claude

I don't understand, the problem is with the capture tools, so no icons or BMP????
Small do not

Hello Pierre !
¤ I meant
small images generally: icons (which are small images), small BMPs or any whatever image-extension…
- I didn't define yet the threshold-size where the bug begins, though… Only the size does matter, it seems…
- And the problem is not set in the XnView capture-tool, since I got the bug pasting a capture made in
M$-Paint,
like I told above.

Heres a demonstration pictures about the bug first imported and then original picture. As you can see it doesn't lose 1px height it shrinks the image to fit the wrong size. And also sometimes when I shrink image it got wrong size.

By shrinking the image I mean the resize function.

I just notice I cant cet this bug occur whit my all programs. I mean if I copy the picture from Internet Explorer the bug don't occur but if I copy the image for MSpait the bug will occur. This can be MSpaint bug but if I copy the image from MSpaint and paste into any other of my image programs it will get the right size.

I've tried a bit and could reproduce the problem:
1. In MS Paint create an image.
2. Select a 9x9 pixel area
3. Copy the selection to the clipboard
4. Import the image in XnView using "Edit > Import Clipboard"
-> The image imported in XnView has 8x8 images, only. Bug.
When pasting the clipboard contents to another instance of MS Paint or Axialis AX-Icon, the image is 9x9 (correct).
Confirmed and ++

Hello !
- I can confirm you test, and made some others available in
this small archive.
- It seems that only the pics having an
ODD count of pixels are affected.
- Hence, it couln't be seen with Windows icons, since they have always a n^2 side-length…

I can confirm this has been fixed in XnView 1.80.1.
Tested with MS Paint and PhotoFiltre using a 9x9 image.

Thank you for checking. I'll move this one to the archive in the next couple of days.
