XnView Software

I need to set Xnview version 1.94.2 to use my calibrated monitor profile. The colors in other programs are vastly different than those shown in Xnview and yes I have "Use ICC Embedded Profile" checked already and this only makes it worse. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

Your picture has a ICC profile?

Checking the ICC profile only makes the program read color profiles that are embedded into image files. ICC files describe the image file itself.

You need to enter the path of the ICM file, this file is the one generated by your monitor calibrator. This file is all about your monitor. XNView does not automagically detect the monitor profile setup in Windows.

In the field below the ICC profile check mark you can enter the path to this profile, fx:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color\Spyder2.icm

Use the ... button to browse for it.

Do you mean the ICC profile check mark has two functions? 1) if you simply check it, it reads the color space of the image and renders it accordingly, 2) if you enter a screen profile it will use it? as a screen profile or as an image color space?? or both???

This is confusing the program would detect the screen profile or have a place to declare it, and another place to define profiles for conversion of the image from one space to another. Or?

And what happens if you have a screen profile (say Spyderxx.icm) AND want the image rendered in the embeded Prophoto profile?

It has a very strange behavior: I made 3 jpg from the same NEF, with three different embeded (not applied) profiles: Chrome50, Prophoto and SMPTE-C (they are quite different). If I uncheck the ICC profile then they are used as screen profiles NOT as picture profile. It shows exactly opposite from the same jpg in Photoshop...

Sorry, I do not know exactly what XnView does in your case with your 3 samples !
The best way is to ask Pierre the Autor.
