Channel displays

Hello, I'm new to Xnview, and I must say it is a great program! But I'm sure everyone already knows that.

With that said, it would be cool to have more display features like displaying the RGB channels individually or different combinations of them, along with the alpha that's already implemented, also it would be great to see more display features for HDRI, like Hdrshop has, such as changing the display of the different exposure levels. Hopefully these suggestions are useful.

View mode: Image » Extract channel » Red / Green / Blue / Alpha
Is that what you're looking for, Ian00?

Hello, I do know about channel extract, but it adjusts the image, it doesn't show a preview of each channel, what I'm talking about is like Photoshop's channel display, where you can show just the red channel or the red and green channel together. The channel extract is a workaround though for now, but I have to undo the change to get back to the original image. Hope this clears things up.

Cool, would you think this would be a doable feature? What I would suggest is to have a a sub-menu under View, called channels, with red, green, blue, and alpha, and check marks next to them. This would also replace Use Alpha Channel and Show Mask where if all 4 channels where checked, it would do the same as Use Alpha Channel, and only having the alpha channel selected would do the same as Show Mask. I think that would be really cool, especially for viewing different textures.

Man, I sure hope this feature gets added. I know hardly anything about programming but, I wouldn't think that something like this would be hard at all. I even tried looking for photoshop plugins that might be compatible with XnView to display separate channels, but no luck.
