A new wallpaper mode (+ ability to create wallpapers from fullscreen dropdown menu)

What if a picture is big and the aspect ratio doesn't match your screen ratio?

From Viewer mode:
When this mode is selected a selection area appears with the screens aspect ratio. The selection is maximized though, while still keeping the aspect ratio, and when you choose what part of the image you want to use as a wallpaper, the rest is cropped away automatically and you use the selected area of the image as a wallpaper while the normal image is untouched. (this can be done manually but it would be much easier if it could be made automatic)

From Fullscreen mode:
Basically the same but only from the Fullscreen mode.

I had that one my my list of proposals aswell:

A recangle corresonding to the display`s size`s aspect ratio that you can zoom (+ & -) in size and move around on top of the picture to select the desired area.

I would recommend to start the selection size in exactly the display resolution.
The the user can resize the selection as needed.

In fullscreen mode I would rather not havew a rectangle-selection but instead I would just zoom and move the picture untill I have the part that I want and then open a context menu (right mouse button) to select "use current view as desktop background".
That would require being able to zoom in small steps.

That sounds very good to me.

I believe that a good piece of software like this should have a basic function like this; where the aspect ratio is valued, because the desktop should be entirely covered with the image without it being stretched. Of course, at the cost of excluding some part of the image.
