Color instead of deleted part of the picture

If you delete a part of the picture, is there an option to select the background color of the empty part of the picture? Thank you from wanderwegmarke

A bit complicated workaround:
What you could do is mark a small area of this (or another image) which has the colour you want as background and copy it it to the clipboard. Then you select the area which you want to delete and paste the clipboard to the current selection ("Edit > Paste", or Ctrl+V).
