My slideshows have a large number of slides. Everytime when I start my slideshow for reviewing some parts of the slideshow, I can not start from another slide than the first one. So when my interesting part is far away from the beginning of the slideshow, it will take a long time. My problem could be solved in two ways:

1. When I open a slideshow, I select a file from the file list in the slideshow menu. If a slide is selected the slideshow starts from this position and NOT from the first one.

2. The keys [Page Up/Down] have the same funciton like [Up/Down] for a slideshow. I suggest to give the keys [Page Up/Down] a different function, like in the browser or viewer, so that a certain number of slides are skipped for each key stroge (10% of the slideshow, or a certain number of slides 10..100).

1. Perhaps a special context menu option to with such a list, or field to type the image number might solve this problem.

2. These keys have already a special function - previous/next image in folder while other keys (arrows, wheel) switch to random image. Perhaps another keys/shortcuts (Ctrl+Arrows, Ctrl+Page Up/Down).

Thanks Dreamer for your reply!

My experience with page-up/down and and the arrows keys shows only differnce functions of the keys, if you enable "random" in the slideshow menu. Without enabling "random" the keys page-up and page-down have the same function like the keys arrow-left/up arrow-righ/up.

So the keys are open for allocation with different function ?

I never use the random function for slideshow, because I want to use my slideshow for presentations, where random slide sequences will "kill" the attention of your audiance.

Ctrl+<Some key> is a good idea. "Ctrl" often stands for "stronger" or "more", so this Ctrl+Page Up/Down would be a faster paging. Would fit perfectly.

No, they are not open, you don't use random function, but other users use it and there are no other keys to switch to prev./next image in random mode.

I support this suggestion !!
