Video display settings for preview

The video display settings for preview seems to be buggy / inconsistent.
More precisely, the "Show first frame for videos" setting and the preview for video files setting in the file list doesn't work as expected.
1. "Show first frame for videos" in preview settings doesn't do anything (the video player is always shown in preview) as long as you have enabled preview for video files in the file list.
2. Disabling preview for video files in file list doesn't actually disable the preview as long as you have "Show first frame for videos" selected in preview settings. (In this case first frame is shown in the preview.)
3. To disable the preview for video files entirely you need to unselect both "Show first frame for videos" and preview for video files in the file list, but when you do that this happens to the preview while video file is selected: http://i34.tinypic.com/2i9m1rt.png
Here's how I think these settings should work.
"Show first frame for videos" setting should only change the way videos are shown in preview and it should have nothing to do wherever preview is disabled / enabled for video files.
Preview for video files setting in the file list should simply disable / enable the preview for video files regardless of "Show first frame for videos" setting. Just like all the other preview settings in the file list.
