Switching off the small toolbar in filmstrip layouts

Most of the time I need maximum height of my screen for showing prewiews in xnview using filmstrip layout. So I switch of all toolbars.
When I switch off the small toolbar in filmstrip layout (layouts 9 and 10), the filmstrip is only shifted to the top of its window.
It doesn't release the free space in reducing the height of the thumbnail window - which would result in a higher preview window.
