Ctrl + Wheel is being written that Zoom is done according to help file.
However, when the value of "Tools > Options > General > Keyboard/Mouse > Mouse > Mouse Wheel" is "Previous/Next File", it doesn't work.
Please confirm it.

Hello,
1-)Right, Ctrl+Wheel doesn't work to zoom here too if "Mouse Wheel" = "Previous/Next File".
2-) if "Tools > Options > General > Keyboard/Mouse > Mouse > Mouse Wheel" is "Previous/Next File" :
Next /previous wheel does not work into the preview mode.
(Works as expected here into the View mode and into the Full Screen mode too)

and on that front I would like to cast my vote for xnview to adopt this behaviour by default (wheel = prev/next & ctrl+ wheel = zoom).
I see no reason why xnview would not conform to what seems to be a common standard in any graphic application these days.
see here:

just name one image viewer that doesn't behave like this.

IMHO, One of the reasons can be here for example :
If it is as option, I agree (but not as default for me)
If not, I disagree because users often like using during the "Quick Slide Show mode" the mouse scrolling to zooming in or out (and I do not want to use Ctrl+mouse scroll instead, less useful).
