EXIF and IPTC... can I use both?

My original pictures have exif data... but after doing a batch transformation (levels/contrast) and adding some IPTC data (caption/location) I noticed the browser only showed an icon for IPTC (no EXIF icon).

Can I keep both exif and iptc data in each photo? (pls confirm if exif/iptc data is contained IN the jpg - this is my understanding.)

I like IPTC... but dont want to loose Exif data... is there something I've done to wipe out the exif data?

Is there a recommended procedure or batch script that will import all EXIF data into IPTC?

Any other basic info about IPTC/EXIF/XnView I should be aware of?

Thanks

Yes of course, and also XMP, ICC, and more if you want....

Maybe you have saved your picture without the option:
Options\Read/Write\Write\JPEG\ check Keep EXIF data, etc... ?

In this case you can use XMP too, because with IPTC it will be very difficult, but maybe with Exiftool into IPTC keywords ???

Strange, you use TIFF as output format?
