Vista 64 - XNView crashes when trying to view images

I have Vista 64 Home Premium and this happens every time and it's very consistent.

I open any img file [ex: JPG] and XNView displays the image, but when I try to go to the next image the application crashes [stops responding]; I have to use the task manager to kill it. The same thing happens when I try to Close or exit the program from viewing an image.

I have another PC with XP Pro 32bit and it works perfectly.

Anyone else had this issue?

I doubt this is in any way related:
1. the issue Larry is reporting is related to xnview not xnviewMP!
2.he is experiencing freezes and not crashes, and as soon as trying to view the next image where the xnviewMP issue is only when pressing next (or prev.) repeatedly and very fast.

I'm using Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 and don't have any freezes.
Have you tried using newer or older video drivers?

I'm not repeatedly hitting the next key. It's a very simple [double click the xnview icon] open the img [in this case JPG about 1.5mb], I view it and when I try to close or go to the next item it freezes. I don't think the other article applies.

My Machine Specs:
Acer Aspire x1200
DCore 4850
4gb 6400 DDR Mem
NVidia 8200 onboard video
320gb HD space
Vista 64 Home Premium SP1

I'll check the video driver version and get back with you.
Thanks for all the replies.

Could you try to disable option/view/Read ahead?
