Over-written thumbnail in Shell extension

Post by PSHRutPark »

When using the shell extension, the thumbnail is always overwritten by menu text. Thus:

Is there a solution to this?

Operating system is Win XP Pro SP3

Thanks

Other ShellEx…

:) Hello !

• It's OK here with XP-Pro SP1…

- I suspect some other shell extension set by another programme to be the culprit …
- You could check all ShellExt you have with a tool like ShellExView then disable them one by one till the defect disappears…

Yes, a while back a user experienced problems using XnView ShellEx in combination with Tortoise, another Shell extension for CVS. In the end the "culprit" was the other shell extension. The same might apply here.

I experimented with a number of options, including combinations. But no difference.

I suspect it is a negative effect of one of the other shell functions but I haven't been able to identify which one.

Regarding ShellExView referred to by Clo: my firewall gives a serious warning about going to the author's site. Is the programme clean?

Thanks to you all for responding.

• The ShellExtView tool is a soft I can guarantee safe for all users, "seniors, teens and pets" like icfu-friend says :D

OK!!

It was ZoneAlarm Suite that threw up the rather emphatic warning!

Later: Have retried downloading ShellExtView but unable to. Can view the author's main page but nothing else. Would you mind testing it?

Thanks

:) Again…

• I use the gratis version, so I guess that they ought justify the licence fee with such stupid “events”… Image

EDIT : I just went to the NirSoft page before to start that message, no problem !
- Whether you can't get the tool, please contact me via PM here, I'll try to send it to you by e-mail if you wish,
my own version is too old but I keep it 'cause I fixed the French language a lot and I don't wish to do this again…
- I got the newest ZIP, it's only 48.2 KiB…

Found version 1.14 elsewhere.

Tried a few options and no improvement.

I'll try downloading from author's site on my linux PC.
