The number of pictures and directories with unicode is currently rising like hell here due to correspondence with various asian companies, Japanes, Chinese, Korean, Thai, but also greek, abarian, etc etc.

Windows (both XP and Vista) and Linux can handle them without problems, displaying the correct characters. Also some other viewers don't have such problems.

It has gone beyond the "rename the file and folders" level here, what I did in the past, but I want to stay with xnview.

So my question is: when will there be unicode support ?

Jou

Edit:
A LOT of the viewers cannot handle unicode, xnview is not alone.
One I found which CAN support unicode was Vallen Jpegger:
http://www.vallen.de/freeware/
It also has the "does not annoy me due to stupid interface" feature like xnview has too.

Don't start about acdsee, I switched away from it long ago since it is unstable compared to xnview.

Thank you for hinting, it works, it does not have problems with unicode.

All that is left is to change the config to make it usable again :).
Quite some work, but worth it.
