How the multi-function toolbar buttons should work

Post by JohnFredC »

I love the "multi-function" drop-down combo buttons on the new MP toolbars, but they don't behave quite the way I think they should. (Nothing happens in response to a click directly on the button.)

When clicked, each button should toggle the "main" function of the button.

For instance:
  • Clicking the middle of the "Tree pane" button should toggle tree visibility.

Clicking the middle of the "Preview pane" button should toggle preview visibility.

Clicking the down-arrow of any combo button should display the menu as already implemented.
Also, it would be great to be able to substitute an icon for the text in the button.

Thanks for listening!

I absolutely agree. Let me renew my request for an enhanced Open with [menu] button:

I'd like to propose a similar solution for XnView MP/QT and XnView Win32...
